I believe meaningful, lasting, effective change happens within connected, safe relationships. Each person is unique, and the expert on their individual situation. I feel grateful to be a part of my clients’ healing journey towards reaching their potential.

I work from an eclectic framework, using training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Attachement-Based Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy and Mindfulness.

Natasha is a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver. My credentials also include training in EMDR (an evidence based trauma healing technique).

Through many different experiences, I’ve come to believe that people often get stuck and overwhelmed in their lives, and experience difficulties in their relationships, to the extent that they’ve been hurt by others, difficult events and experiences, and the world around them. I’ve certainty found this to be true in my own story, and the stories of the many people with whom I’ve worked over the past 10 years, both as a youth worker and a clinical counsellor in a variety of settings. It seems that people are hurt in the context of relationships, and as a result, heal best in relationship.

With this in mind, I see counselling as a relationship that provides a way of getting ‘unstuck’ – an opportunity for individuals and families to make sense of where they’ve come from, determine what holds them in frustrating and painful cycles, find new ways of relating to themselves and others, and tap into the healing strengths they have within themselves.

As a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), I maintain an integrative approach. This means that I use an number of counselling theories and practices to help connect with, and uniquely support, people. My approach to counselling, however, is primarily impacted by theories of trauma, attachment, and family/community systems.

I believe that we are all experts on everything “me”, and because of that, we also hold the keys to help us unlock what it is to be whole, to heal, and to promote positive change in our ever-evolving lives. I have over 15 years working with youth and their families, and feel privileged to stand with and advocate for their mental health in such a formative time of their lives.
